Studio Visits

Understanding how art can be a viable career option is something I was never taught at school. In fact, it was exactly the opposite. I know I'm not the only one that was led to believe that being an artist was an option only for the truly gifted and that for the rest of us mere mortals, there was no money in art. My 'studio visits for kids' is to show young people that there are many different routes into a career in the art industry; having your own studio and selling art online is just one pathway. A studio visit enables young people to see what my art space looks like and discover what my day to day routine is. They can be tailor-made to suit the needs of the visitors and include a Q&A session if required. Visits are free of charge, please contact me to book.

The building had been empty for two years and needed cleaning and decorating.

My studio is based in an 18th Century building in the historic market town of Chippenham, Wiltshire, UK. Originally, the building was the King's Head Inn, referring to King Alfred. Settlement in this area dates back to Anglo-Saxon times when King Alfred used to spend time in Chippenham over the Christmas period.

White walls and floor helped to create a light and airy studio.
